Meet Your Instructor: Dr. Joseph Accuardi-Gilliam

Dr. Joseph Accuardi-Gilliam.jpgDr. Joseph Accuardi-Gilliam teaches in VOICES (Visioning Organizations: Inclusive Communities & Equitable Spaces) in the module on Disability. 

Dr. Joseph Accuardi-Gilliam is a quantitative researcher, whose primary research interests involve examining social attitudes and identities, with their relationships to common issues within educational contexts. Having worked as an educational leader in the Pacific Northwest, Joseph is presently an administrator in a large comprehensive high school, where he focuses on issues of equity and access for marginalized communities. Joseph’s doctoral work recently examined racial attitudes and their relationship towards school discipline practices. His research has been acclaimed for its direct examination of these issues, through quantitative methods, providing compelling new evidence to the research base on the topic.
