Tell us about your business.
Sportland Tea Co. Tea blends designed for athletic people.
What inspired you to start your business?
I needed something to get me past some running distance hurdles (no pun intended), and doing research led me to green tea. It works! From there I started making blends for myself and friends, it grew organically from there.
Before coming to the SBDC, what were you struggling with in your business?
I know design, I know flavors, and I know marketing. I don't know 'business' as it relates to selling a product rather than a service. SBDC helped me with that.
What types of services did you receive and/or in which programs did you participate?
I took the Getting Your Recipe to Market class.
How did the services or programs help you overcome your challenges?
Gave me the information and support I needed.
What have you done differently in your business since working with the SBDC?
Worked smarter, not harder.
How is your business doing now?
Building steadily.
What would you say to other small business owners thinking of working with the SBDC?
It is a beneficial resource.
